Lakshmi Giri Charitable Trust was incorporated in 2013 with the principal objective of re-establishing the importance of Vedic wisdom and its samskaras and persevere to uphold the same in keeping the modern techniques without diluting the intrinsic values. The Trust also aims To provide platforms, opportunities and assistance to upcoming artists, and talents in the field of art, music, and dance.
The Trust also aims at helping people below the poverty line and underprivileged women and creating an environment for the emotional, physical, social, and spiritual well-being of poor individuals in society irrespective of religion, caste, and sex. Lakshmi Giri Charitable Trust is a non-governmental organization (NGO) / non-profit organization (NPO) / voluntary organization (VO). Lakshmi Giri Charitable Trust operates independently of any government, typically one whose purpose is to address a political or social issue.
Lakshmi Giri Charitable Trust works in different sectors including Art & Science, Drinking Water, Education, Food Processing, Labour & Employment, Women’s Development & Empowerment, and Skill Development. We have expertise in identifying the physically challenged and the poor and motivating, impact training, and creating awareness related to socio-economic empowerment and self-improvement.
The Aim of Lakshmi Giri Charitable Trust is
- To identify people below the poverty line and create awareness among them with regard to their socio-economic conditions and support them in their sustainable development.
- To Empower women by motivating and training them for self-employment and income generation activities providing productive resources through credit and subsidy which may ensure their sustainable livelihood and development.
- To ensure the health and sanitation of people, especially in Chennai slums by conducting health awareness campaigns and medical camps.
- To contribute towards global concerns of global warming and environmental degradation by creating awareness among people and training them in solid waste management.
- To give free education to disadvantaged children and youth by giving them scholarships and endowments.
- To encourage and support the marginal farmers through implementing schemes that offer them credits and subsidies.
- To promote naturopathic treatment and herbal medication which are cheaper and more effective for long-standing health complaints, and these are available without a prescription.
- To establish and maintain homes for differently abled people to capacitate competent skills and give them the care and protection they need.
- To protect women from significant harm and domestic violence and to identify the victims and support them towards their livelihood.
- To ensure the protection of children from trafficking and all forms of exploitation through institutional, non-institutional, and outreach programs.
- To prevent drug abuse and alcoholism through awareness creation and support the drug addicts through rehabilitation centers.
